Baa Atoll School in the Maldives acknowledged the overwhelming emotions in students, teachers and parents caused by the school closures and other social restrictions applied to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
At a time when teachers and students stayed at home in the small island of Dharavandhoo, the school management thought of doing something useful to reduce and redress the stress of the students, teachers and parents. They introduced a home gardening programme that engaged everyone in the school community. This programme helped students, teachers and even parents to refresh their minds and bodies while also earning some extra money. This video talks about the success of this programme.
