When schools had to close due to COVID-19, the Ministry of
Education partnered with 2 national television channels to deliver televised lessons
to all students across the country. The
lesson recordings are done by a pool of 500+ volunteer teachers from
approximately 130 schools (including government, private and community-run schools) inclusive of all 21 atolls in the Maldives. Most of
these video recordings were done at the teachers’ homes and out in the community
using the teachers’ own personal devices like mobile phones. Since this is a
completely new and unique job, teachers had to be guided with rigorous feedback
and support.
This video is about the successful journey of Huravee School
in Male’ City, who supported teachers located in schools across the country
while also recording and producing their own lessons.
